The Change PIN interface is used to set a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for the current user. This interface is applicable to those with FHWA and/or FTA permissions, so it will only appear on the application for those users. This tool is accessible by selecting the icon to the left of the System Administration icon. By selecting this icon, the user will be placed directly in the Change PIN interface.
This simple interface requires the user to enter a new four-digit PIN into the "New PIN" textbox and re-enter the same values in the "Confirm New PIN" textbox. This PIN will be encrypted in the database, even as the user types, for security purposes. The "Save" button can be selected once these fields are filled to set the string of numbers as the user's PIN. When an FHWA or FTA user is approving a pending revision to the STIP, they will be required to enter this PIN number for verification purposes.
