The Map Frame is an Esri-based map front-end that allows the user to query and view projects of particular interest. All projects will be displayed upon initial entry into the application, but the filters on the Control Ribbon can narrow this to only projects within specified criteria.
When projects are mapped, the user can hover their mouse over a plotted point to view its STIP ID. Typically, the chosen item is highlighted in blue to indicate its selected status. If a user clicks this point, a pop-up will appear that lists extended details about the project. Specifically, the project's STIP ID, Municipality, Program, Name, First Year Funding, Last Year Funding, Total Funding, Description, and Location are viewable here. The user will also have access to the Project Summary Report at the top of the pop-up.

| STIP ID | This is the unique identifier for the project. For projects originating in the Project Bundler application, this will be a numeric value. For projects originating in STIP Manager, this ID will be automatically generated in the format S#####. |
| Municipality | This is a distinct list of all municipalities for the project. |
| Program | This is a distinct list of all STIP programs related to the funding records for the selected STIP project. |
| Name | This is the name for the STIP project as shown on the Project Detail tab (STIP Manager). |
| First Year Funding | This is a year value (YYYY) that shows the first year of funding for the project. |
| Last Year Funding | This is a year value (YYYY) that shows the last year of funding for the project. |
| Total Funding | This is a dollar amount, indicating the total funding for the project. |
| Description | This is the project description as shown on the Project Detail tab (STIP Manager). |
| Location | This is a distinct list of all assets related to the STIP project as shown on the Project Detail tab (STIP Manager). The system will concatenate the Asset Type, Asset ID and Asset Name for this field. |
There are some controls on the Map Frame. Each control is shown in the image below and described in the following sections.
1. Zoom In/Out
These buttons provide the user with these zoom capabilities:

The user can also zoom using these mouse techniques:

| Trackwheel Zoom | Zoom in by rolling the mouse wheel forward and zoom out by rolling the mouse wheel backward. |
| Touchpad Zoom | Zoom in by spreading fingers on the touchpad and zoom out by closing fingers. |
2. Find My Location
The Find My Location icon () allows the user to place their current location on the map for visual reference. When this icon is selected, a pop-up message will appear, asking the user to confirm that the system can access their location. A selection of "Allow" will pinpoint the user's location on the map with a blue dot. The "Block" option will prevent the system from finding the user's location.
3. Default Map View
The Default Map View icon () reverts the map to its original state: statewide view with all projects displayed. This action will happen immediately once the icon is selected.
4. Find Address or Place
The "Find Address or Place" search bar allows the user to enter a street address, city, or specific place to zoom to on the map. As the user enters one of these locations, suggestions will appear below the search bar for the user to easily click. Once a search is typed in full or found in the suggestions and selected, the map will zoom to that location and display a "Search Result" box. This box will have a "Zoom To" capability; while the map will already be zoomed in, this allows the user to get an even closer glance if desired.
5. Measurement Tools
There are three Measurement Tools located on the righthand side of the Map Frame: Distance, Area, and Clear. Each of these tools is described in the table below.

Measurement Box
When the Distance or Area measurement tool is used, a Measurement Box will keep track of the unit of measurement and the current distance/area. As mentioned in the table, measurements can be calculated dynamically as the user hovers over the screen and by clicking the map to make points. The distance or area will be documented on the map and in this box. There are two other controls in the Measurement Box:
