The RIDOT/RIDOA STIP Viewer application displays 3 functional areas upon first entry into the application: (1) Control Ribbon (2) Legend (3) Map Frame. Each of these are shown in the image below, with corresponding numbers to the list above.
(1) Control Ribbon
The Control Ribbon serves as the main center for action on the STIP Viewer application. Here, the user can query for a project (filters), change the displayed basemap, generate a report, and access relevant quick links.
(2) Legend
The Legend displays a list of available map layers that can be turned on/off by clicking the appropriate checkbox. The Mapped STIP Items (points/lines) and State Boundary layers are already checked upon first entering the application, but they can also be unchecked if desired. The legend menu is displayed upon opening the application, but it can be hidden/re-opened by clicking the arrow control (caret) to its immediate right.
(3) Map Frame
The Map Frame is used to display STIP project data visually. The Map Frame will display the whole state with all projects mapped by default. Its appearance can be altered by using the available controls on its surface: Zoom In/Out, Find My Location, Default Map View, Find Address or Place, and Measurement Tools. The Map Frame will also host the Search Results table which will appear once the user queries for routes using the filters on the Control Ribbon.
