The Basemap icon opens a list of available basemaps for the application. These "basemaps" change the appearance of the map. This tool is located on the Control Ribbon.

To select a new basemap, the user must simply click the Basemap icon, then an option in the list; the map will update automatically once a basemap is selected. Each option in the list has a preview of the "look" of the basemap to the left of its name (see image below). A new selection here will not be remembered the next time the user enters the application.
