The Code List Maintenance interface can be utilized to maintain the relevant STIP Manager code lists. Specifically, this interface allows the code names and descriptions to be edited in one space and reflected throughout the system. This interface can be accessed by selecting the Code Lists option under the Administration icon ().
To edit this interface, the user must first make a selection in the Code List picklist. Then, they can navigate through the other two sections: Code List Summary and Edit Code.
Code List Summary
This section is composed of a table which provides a read-only listing of all entries currently defined in the selected code list. This table is automatically populated each time a code list is selected from the picklist. Regardless of the code list selected, this table will always display these four columns: Obsolete, ID, Name, and Display Order.
| Column | Description |
| ID | This field defines the unique code associated with a code list entry. This field is required and automatically populated by the system when a new code is added. |
| Name | This field defines the user-friendly, display name for the code. |
| Display Order | This field defines the order in which each code appears in all dropdown lists. |
| Obsolete Code | This field is used to denote if the code is obsolete and therefore no longer allowed to be selected in the system. |
The only controls in this section are the arrows to the right of the table. These arrows allow the user to change the display order of the entries. They function in this way:
- The Double Up Arrow button moves the selected entry to the top of the list.
- The Single Up Arrow button moves the selected entry up one row.
- The Double Down Arrow button moves the selected entry to the bottom of the list.
- The Single Down Arrow button moves the selected entry down one row.
When a row is selected in the table, the Edit Code section is populated.
Edit Code
This section allows the column information in the table to be edited for a selected code row. The fields shown in the Edit Code section change based on the code list selected. The "ID" value is the only field that cannot be edited here.
Button Controls
There are four button controls at the bottom of the Code Lists interface:
| Button | Description |
| Add New Code | This button allows the user to add a new code list entry to the current code list. When this button is selected, the fields in the "Edit Code" section are cleared, so the new code list values may be defined. |
| Sort Codes A-Z | This button will sort the current code list in alphabetical order. To save this display order, the user must then choose to Save Changes. |
| Save Changes | This button saves all changes made to the current code list. |
| Discard Changes | This button discards any changes made to the code list and reverts the fields back to the previously saved values. |
