To ensure that only approved modifications to the STIP are available on the public facing web application, the Publish interface can be utilized. This interface allows the STIP Administrator to create a "snapshot" of the latest approved STIP revision, so it can be copied to the external database. To enter this interface, the Publish option can be selected under the Administration icon ().
The interface is primarily composed of the Publication History table which lists all current and previous approved STIP revisions, ordered by Revision number latest to earliest. Each record will include the Revision, the user who published, and the date the revision was published.
In the top right of the interface, a STIP picklist will allow the user to select the STIP version, including any historical STIPs that may exist. Then, the table will update automatically to match the selection. Any unpublished approved revisions will not have a Published By or Published Date in the table.
When the Publish button is selected, all of the STIP information, including project, asset, and funding information, through the latest approved revision will be copied to the external database and made available in the external STIP web application. If more than one revision is unpublished, they will be published simultaneously. The publishing action will update the Published By and Published Date fields. The Publish button will be disabled if a historical STIP is selected or if the Active STIP has no new revisions to be published since the last publish occurred.
